College of Southern Nevada Charleston Campus

I was driving by the College of Southern Nevada (Charleston Campus) this morning; with camera in hand I explored the campus. The end result is that I have some photos to show you.

The two-year community college offers a number of Associate Degrees and you can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.

CSN has an open door admissions policy. Any individual who can benefit from instruction at the college is welcome to enroll.

Today is Major League Baseball’s All-Star event and an appropriate time to mention the following note. CSN will have a new student next year who is a bit of a celebrity. Bryce Harper, the baseball phenom from Las Vegas High School, has registered at the College of Southern Nevada, where he plans to attend classes in August and play for the Coyotes next season.

Not many sixteen year old athletes find themselves on the cover of Sports Illustrated; the June 8th edition calls Harper “Baseball’s Chosen One.” Harper, a 6-foot-3-inch catcher, hit .626 with 14 home runs and 55 RBIs for the Wildcats this season. He also had 36 stolen bases.
